通过三毛，我认识了周庄，余秋雨先生的《江南小镇》，更使我萌生了到周庄一游的想法。

踏上周庄的土地，一种厚重的历史沉淀涌上了心头。街道两旁那明清时代的建筑以及近现代的仿古建筑，都从黛瓦白墙中透出一种古朴的历史美。且不说那文明遐迩的沈厅与张厅，单是叶楚伧先生的故居，就令我神往了。
Stepping on the land of Zhouzhuang, a kind of he***y historical precipitation surged into my heart. The buildings of Ming and Qing Dynasties on both sides of the street, as well as the ancient buildings of modern times, all show a kind of simple historical beauty from the white walls of Dai wa. Not to mention the well-known shenting hall and Zhangting hall, but Mr. Ye Chulun's former residence, I was fascinated.
叶楚伧故居位于周庄镇的西湾街上，现为一个三开门、五进深的院落。叶楚伧的祖父叶厚甫无意仕途，经商发逊后修建了“祖阴堂”。到叶楚伧的父亲叶凤巢时，家道衰落，昔日辉煌所剩无几，只好靠设馆援徒维持生计。聪慧的叶楚伧便从这里走向了大千世界。

走进门厅，民革中央副***贾亦斌所书“叶楚伧故居”映入眼帘，这黄漆绿字的匾额，足以让我浮想联翩了，更不用说厅堂内钱君陶书写的于右任的诗句“青鞋布袜寒哉儒，内涵劲气雄万夫”的对联和柳亚子亲笔书写的“应遗留名文苑传，难忘结客少年场”的挽联。我在匾下只有深深的鞠躬，以表达对我国文化、新闻界知名人士叶楚伧先生的深深敬意。

穿过花岗石铺成的天井，步入茶厅和正厅，“四廊挂落花格窗”的明清建筑风格，厅内梁、柱、枋上栩栩如生的“锦鸡牡丹”、“丹凤朝阳”等图案，于古朴中透出高雅的诱人气息。

走上小楼，少年时期的叶楚伧在此饱读经书，书卷气浓郁。书香依旧，一部部线装古书安然排放在书橱之中。哲人仙鹤而去，文风千古长有。面对先生所读之书，我看到先生操一叶偏舟，从此起航；看到他与于右任，邵力子并肩，跟随先生，执如椽大笔书写革命人生。出走故居，我的心为先生的精神所留，先生用江河直泻的语言，酣畅淋漓的笔锋，直指***的清廷和军阀的统治。周庄，你因有了先生此类的人，你的历史才会厚重，才会有浓浓的一笔。你灵动的水韵，将会哺育一代一代先生似的伟人。

叶楚伧故居为江苏省文物保护单位。
叶楚伧故居位于周庄镇西湾街，建于清末同治年间，由叶楚伧祖父修建，叶楚伧曾祖父叶杏江为清朝官吏，祖父叶原甫无意于仕途，在周庄开设叶太和酱园，家道比较富裕，修建了这栋老宅，叶楚伧故居前后五进，1100多平方，是典型的苏州庭院建筑，它的建筑特色是清砖小瓦硬山墙，回廊挂落花格窗，是一个仿明的格式。
在周庄，基本上所有的建筑都是前厅后堂的格式，因为古时“男女授受不亲”，必须分别招待，因此都是这样一个特色，叶楚伧故居也不例外，第一进门口木匾上的“叶楚伧故居”五字为民革中央副***贾亦斌手迹，第二进为轿厅是叶家招待一般宾客的地方，墙上有一幅对联是这样的“青鞋布袜寒哉儒，内涵劲气雄万夫”，这是当年***-院长于右任在叶楚伧先生过世时写给他的一副挽联，在这封对联中我们可看出叶楚伧先生穿着很简朴，而学识却非常丰富，是一个学富五本的人，当年叶楚伧先生曾在***考试委员会任委员长，与于右任、邵力子并肩跟随，握起如椽大笔，宣传革命，所以他们曾经私交甚好，故在他过世时，于右任以这副挽联来缅怀他。
第三进是叶家的正厅，举办大事、招待贵客之处，这边又可看到一副对联“应遗留名文苑传，难忘结客少年场”。这是当年柳亚子先生写给他的一副挽联，叶楚伧先生早年参加柳亚子、陈去病组织的进步文学团体“南社”，经常与柳亚子先生他们一起吟诗作对，宣传民主革命，宣传新文化，所以当年柳亚子惊闻叶楚伧先世的噩耗时悲痛万分，疾书此挽联以送行。
第四、第五进是叶家的内堂，曾是叶家生活起居的地方，现在陈列着一些叶楚伧的书籍，他的文稿，还有他的一些题字、照片等，内堂展示有两件狐皮大衣，这是叶楚伧先生，曾为办“民国日报”时，由于缺钱而典当过的衣服，由此也可看出叶楚伧先生是个非常清廉的人。
